Cast of All Shame
Begins with the spirit of medieval bhakti poet Janabai taking over a radio show and playing an agony aunt to today’s women who have issues ranging from domestic abuse to buying sanitary pads, who get slut shamed and body shamed. It is in response to the woes of these women that Janabai speaks about the liberalizing Bhakti movement, recounting poetry of women mystic poets.
Punctuated with soulful poetry & stories. This solo theatre piece balances the entertaining and the literary. Cast Off All Shame has been performed to much acclaim at eminent formal spaces as well as alternative spaces.
Art galleries, Academic institutions, Cafes, yoga studio, and cultural organizations have been featured multiple times in Mumbai Mirror, Mid-Day, and Hindu. This piece features an original soundtrack of a bhakti poem, sung by Sun Sathiya (ABCD 2) fame Priya Saraiya.
